December 2010
I'd really like to take my hoodie off, but
I forgot that I had on my weed shirt. It’s just a pot leaf and says “don’t get caught holding the bag.” Guess I’ll be sweating the rest of the day.

Horrible suggestion
Twitter suggested that I follow Ann Coulter. Today is going to be a good day, I can tell.

Tonight - Books
I’m plugging away at Infinite Jest slowly, but I’m making progress. The footnotes always slow me down.
Those packages that arrived today? More books from TRBC members. How awesome are they? I don’t think I’ve ever felt a stronger connection to a group of people, especially ones that I only know from the internet. Connection seems to be a running theme with me these days,...

hwat replied to your post: If I move to Philly: A list
What is this podunk town you live in that has no stores or books? Or at least, how far is it from the nearest city?
Closest (good) bookstore is an hour away. There is one in my hometown, but it’s pretty crappy. We have stores, just not stores with books. And even then, the stores we do have are pretty damn lame.
If I move to Philly: A list
I will be 2 hours from NYC and DC. This means I will visit all of my friends and their mothers.
I will go to Yankees games.
I will go to museums and concerts and bookstores. HOLY SHIT STORES WITH BOOKS!
That’s all I’m excited about at the moment. I will be even more excited when I think of other things.

RIP to all the amazing musicians who died this year … and made the world sound a little better while you were here. We had forgotten about some of these.

Holiday fun!
Not really.
My grandparents found out about this last night. They are convinced that I have a drug problem. Tomorrow at the grandparents house will be fun. Good thing my dad usually lets us open a present on Christmas Eve, because I’m definitely opening up the Mark Twain autobiography so I can read it while we celebrate with family and ignore all of the questions about my rumored drug use.
Bookslut Interviews Lan Samantha Chang →
infinitegestures:
Interesting interview. Her All Is Forgotten, Nothing Is Lost is a quiet, unassuming little novel with a real, earned emotional payoff at the end. It almost sneaks up on you, which is a testament to Ms. Chang’s command of language and the economy with which she writes.
